چکیده

This research studies the incidence of type substrate, soluble or particulate, in emergence, development, and inhibition bulking activated sludge systems. It was evaluated using volume index (SVI), mixing liquor-suspended solids (MLSS), microscopic analysis biomass, effluent suspended (ESS). In first experiment, four sequencing batch reactors (SBRs) were fed with substrate at a fixed mass, while mass particulate varied, as those (saccharose mass/flour mass) ratios 3:1, 3:2, 3:3 3:4., deficit ranging from 20 to 30% compared ratio recommended. The SBRs have similar MLSS, IVL, ESS. From day 30, 80 90%, influents 1/1 1/2 until 48 days. present IVL between 600 730 mL/g ESS 370 440 mg/L; unlike 1/3 1/4, they 170 185 mL/g, 260 270 mg/L. favorable effect matter is categorical. second set experiments, two studied: SBR 1 saccharose, 2 flour; there lack nutrients causing SBRs. Once nutrient deficiency condition changed 11 excess, after 22 days, SVI 190 360 mg/L, MLSS 2000 mg/L for saccharose; influent flour, an 100 4000 shows faster more consistent recovery substrate. Therefore, proposal add substrate-like flour active plants facing bulking. clean, innocuous sustainable alternative processes that use chemical reagents.

Filamentous sludge bulking control by nano zero-valent iron in activated sludge treatment systems.

Sludge bulking causes loss of biomass in the effluent and deterioration of effluent water quality. This study explored the use of nano zero-valent iron (NZVI with an average particle size of 55 ± 11 nm) for sludge bulking control. In two Modified Ludzack-Ettinger (MLE) activated sludge treatment systems, a single dose of NZVI at the final concentration of 100 mg Fe per L in the mixed liquor red...

Bulking control with chlorination in a nutrient removal activated sludge system*

This paper deals with control of bulking by chlorination in a laboratory-scale (15l/ d) biological nutrient removal system. Bulking was caused by filamentous organisms characteristic of nutrient removal systems, i.e. Type 0092, Microthrix parvicella and Type 0914. Over a continuous dosing period of 19 d, at 8 mgCl2 /gMLSS.d the diluted sludge volume index (DSVI) decreased from 230 to 48 ml/g. N...

Bulking control with ozonation in a nutrient removal activated sludge system

The control of sludge bulking by ozonation was studied on four parallel pilot-scale (110 l/d) biological nutrient removal systems. Bulking was caused by filamentous organisms which typically occur in nutrient removal systems, i.e. Type 0092, Type 0041 and Microthrix parvicella. Continuous dosing of ozone, at 1; 2 and 4 g O3 /kg mixed liquor suspended solids (MLSS).d resulted in a diluted sludge...

Filamentous organism bulking in nutrient removal activated sludge systems

A model is outlined for the major biochemical respiratory mechanisms of a conceptualised heterotrophic facultative organism (representing the heterotrophic facultative mass of activated sludge) subjected to four different sets of conditions: steady-state aerobic, steady-state anoxic, steady-state aerobic changed to anoxic, and steady-state anoxic/anaerobic changed to aerobic. Proposals and impl...
